Kithulgala lies on the Kelani River, which has been covered extensively in Sri Lanka. The Kelani River offers enough spills for experienced paddlers and novices alike. And also, the Kelani River is swishing down through jungle, tea, and rubber plantations. There is a small primaeval forest just off the river, and it's home to about 54 rare species of birds.
