Deekirikewagela Saradiyel better known as Uthuwan Kande Soora Saradiyel / Saradiel was aCeylonese hero and bandit in the town of Mawanella who eventually went on to become a legend. Also known as the “Robin Hood” of Sri Lanka in the 19th Century, he looted the wealthy who followed the Road to theCentral City of Kandy by road and redistributed it back to the poor villages.

The historical story will start with a Hike to his hideout at 7am. The Narrator (in English) will cover step by step Information relating to his background, crimes, capture & Saradiel the legend. At the end of the hike, Saradiel’s cave at the base of the mountain can be explored. (Only for daredevils).

Refreshments & chilled towels will be served.

Once back on the ground, explore Saradiel’s village for a guided tour of a typical village life style in the 19th century & Saradiel’s life story depicted by made up figurines. narrated in Sinhalese with English translations.

At the end of the to guided tour proceed for lunch.

Meeting point will be at Uthuwankande between 6.30 -7 am for breakfast.
